How You Can Make a Difference
There is probably nothing more important in a community than quality healthcare for its citizens. You can become a partner to help insure quality health care for fellow citizens in Lincoln County and the surrounding area.
The mission of the Lincoln County Hospital and Health Care Foundation is to strengthen community health care and insure that Lincoln County Hospital remains a viable institution into the future by encouraging philanthropy.
Ways to Give - Outright Gifts:
- Cash Gifts - The simplest and most convenient way of making a charitable contribution. Cash gifts are fully deductible for federal income tax purposes. The maximum annual deduction is limited to 50 percent of the donor's adjusted gross income. You can also give appreciated stocks, bonds, IRAs, real estate or other assets which would otherwise be subject to tax on the appreciation if sold.
- Annual or Year-End Gifts - Many people make once-a-year charitable donations, often at the end of the year.
- "In Memory Of" Gifts - You can make a gift in memory of a friend or loved one. This can be done at the time of death or on the anniversary of a signifcant date, such as a birthday or holiday.
- "In Honor Of" Gifts - Donate in honor of anyone you choose on the occasion of his/her birthday, graduation, anniversary or other opportunies.
- Life Insurance - Do you have life insurance policies that are no longer needed? You may simply name us as a beneficiary of the policy.
- Will Bequests - Anything you leave to charity, in your will, will reduce the size of your taxable estate while helping a good cause: a specified sum of money, a particular piece of property, or a percentage of the residue after making provisions for family and friends.
Ways to Give - Endowed Giving:
The concept of endowed giving is simple yet new to many donors. An endowment is an investment in the future by investing a donor's gift and disallowing spending of the principal. However, the Foundation is able to use the interest from the endowment. The initial investment continues to earn interest forever. For many donors the idea of a gift that is not "used up" and has long-term influence in the community is appealing and, with the help of the Foundation, easier than a person might think. We encourage you to contact your attorney (estate planner) or tax preparer to find out the advantages of charitable giving.
